A tree with no roots will easily fall--which is why the higher its branches spread, the deeper its roots must reach. Your life is no different! To flourish you need a solid base, strong enough to weather life's challenges. Growing up is one thing, but have you taken the time to grow down? To connect your heart to something that brings life? To root your hope in something that lasts?
One significant way our youth grew down their faith during their week in Duluth was through a program called The Gathering. This sacred time provided time for the youth to individually reflect on their day as well as allowed everyone to come together to praise and thank God for the day. The youth engaged in meaningful conversations, sharing personal stories, praying over one another, singing powerful songs, worshiping, and exploring God's everlasting love. One of our youth shared the following after one of the Gathering services: “I felt like a sense of peace in my life. We all are coming from different backgrounds and places but we all still came together to worship and it was just incredibly impactful for me to be surrounded by others my age who had a passion for God and wanted to deepen their faith!”
Go wide with love for our community and don’t miss the opportunity to also go deep with God. After all, it is Jesus who invites us to be connected to Him, to be growing together, and to be ROOTED in love! Hear more about the Gathering and other memorable stories from the trip on October 6th!"
