Dear Siblings in Christ,
We all hope that you have taken the time to soak up some sunshine and have enjoyed lots of summer fun!
There are some updates on the Lift Project that we would like to share with you. After spending more than a decade talking about replacing the outdated elevator, it is finally going to happen! A downpayment of just over $26,000 was made, and the lift has been ordered. The construction phase will begin after Labor Day and the lift is scheduled to arrive and be installed in early October. The targeted completion date for the project is November 1st .
Now to talk about the dollars and cents. At the annual meeting, the congregation approved the spending of up to $100,000, for the lift and upgrades and improvements to the narthex. While the cost of materials and the timeline has changed since the annual meeting, we are still hoping to get this project done within the budget the congregation approved in February.
As of the writing of this letter, there is $21,132.92 in the elevator fund. That means we need to raise about $53,000 to complete the installation, construction, and updates to the narthex and second street entrance. We feel that it is important to have these funds available so that we can pay the contractors in a timely manner.
Please prayerfully consider making a special contribution, of any size, above your regular giving, so that cost of the lift project will be covered. If you have already contributed, thank you! If we are unable to raise the funds with special contributions, we will need to consider using a portion of the Halverson Fund.
This update to our facility has been a long time coming and it’s exciting that it is finally coming to reality! We are full of gratitude for every one of you and your willingness to share your financial resources, your time and your talents to further the mission and ministry of Eleva Lutheran. Together we can do this!
God bless you,
Eleva Lutheran Congregational Council
